Many skiers and snowboarders are not aware of the top- skiing and snowboarding opportunities which Pakistan offers \u2013 however that doesn\u2019t mean that you shouldn\u2019t do some research and jump on a plane to Pakistan with your skis or snowboard tied to your back.<\/p>\n

Although skiing is in its infancy in Pakistan, there are numerous top-skiing spots that you can travel to. For a skiing enthusiast, Pakistan offers some fine skiing destinations with stunning scenic views within easy reach of airports, and exceptional skiing areas for tourists:<\/p>\n

Naltar Valley Ski Resort<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two hours drive (40km) from Gilgit, located in a region of pine-forests and alpine meadows 10,000 feet above sea level and surrounded by snow-capped mountains.<\/p>\n

Situated at under the Pakistan Airforce (PAF) base, the resort offers two ski slopes (400m and 600m). Note that prior permission is required from the air-force to visit the resort. Naltar Local man and International skier, Mohmmad Abbas, became the first ever-Pakistani skier to participate in the Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010.<\/p>\n

Malam Jabba: Ski Resort<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sadly the popular of Malam Jabba resort (300 kilometres from Islamabad) which offered excellent skiing opportunities has been destroyed by bombing, but will hopefully be rebuilt soon.<\/p>\n

Nathiagali Ski Resort<\/strong><\/p>\n

This hill skiing-resort is located in the lower Himalayan mountain range at an altitude of 8,205 feet (2501m). Nathiagali is about 32kms from Murree, which is an hour’s drive from the airport at Pakistan\u2019s capital Islamabad.<\/p>\n

The monsoon season From Mid April until September brings a lot of storms and very cold-weather, perfect for skiing.<\/p>\n
