Great news for the Pakistani passengers of Manchester and the the Midlands, with soaring prices and limited competition after the downfall of airblue airlines there is now hope of increased competition and lower airfares for Pakistan flights.

Shaheen air Pakistan are due to operate flights from Manchester airport and East Midlands airport starting 01 March 2016 – with the limited information we currently have provided directly by the airlines representative it is due to operate a 3 weekly flight from Manchester on Tuesday’s, Friday’s and Sundays direct to Islamabad with planned flights starting from East Midlands airport near Nottingham operating on Friday’s and Sunday’s.

The airline has planned to start operations on this very popular and route using 2 airbus A330-200 aircraft of which shaheen air currently own 8 aircraft in operation throughout Pakistan and the middle east. The airline has established a solid track record dating back to 1993 having scheduled flights daily within Pakistan and the Middle East and UAE.

Shaheen air has approximately 21 aircraft with 8 aircraft on order, the average fleet age is around 20 years, the airline is Pakistan’s second largest operator after the national flag carrier Pakistan international airlines AKA PIA. Unlike PIA, Shaheen is a privately owned airline with its head office located in Karachi – Pakistan within Jinnah International airport.

Shaheen air has previously operated flights between the UK and Islamabad dating back to 2008 and lasting for around 5 months, the suspension of flights from Leeds bradford airport came due to technical problems and not due to any operational or financial reasons, the airline suspended services offering customers alternatives and refunds on purchased air tickets although this cannot be firmly confirmed, there do not appear to be any rumors of anyone suffering a financial loss by the airlines decision to suspend flights on this route. The airline attracted a great deal of interest with almost all flights being at near full capacity.
